5 Questions About Your Children’s Ministry Leadership

5 Questions About Your Children’s Ministry Leadership

questions_markAs a leader, I ought to always be evaluating what I’m doing, why I’m doing it & how it’s being done.  With that in mind, I jotted down these 5 questions that Children’s Ministry leaders ought to answer for themselves:

~ Am I “leading” or am I “managing”?*

~ Am I equipping others to do the work or am I enabling dysfunction by doing it all myself?

~ Am I banking on recruitment or building deep relationships?

~ Am I pursuing a vision or am I chasing personal value?

~ Am I serving in the Spirit or striving in my own strength?

This post is not about providing answers for these questions (I think the right answers are pretty obvious, or should be) but rather simply about asking. Sometimes we get so busy doing ministry that we fall into habits which are counter productive. But these questions ought to be asked of ourselves regularly, and each of us has to answer for ourselves.

Founder of Children's Ministry Leader & Vice President of Global Resources at David C Cook
The most important thing to know about me is that I am blessed beyond measure to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to have married way over my head to my wife, Michele, and that I have two incredible grown sons named Taylor and Garret.

I serve as the Vice President of Global Resources in the Global Mission department at David C. Cook.

I love what I do as it is the outflow of 25 years of ministry experience as Children’s, Family & Administrative Pastor, consultant, trainer, speaker and short-term missions leader.
